1. TITLE

Consultant on Child Rights Programming (CRP) capacity building

 

2. Background

The UNCRC is enshrined in Save the Children’s work across all thematic areas. In China, Save the Children is widely regarded as the pioneer in introducing the concept of Child Rights to the country, of which the work started in early 1990s. However, due to various reasons like staff turnover, in recent years, this critical part of work has been lax.

In order for staffs to be able to understand CRP and how to practice child rights based approaches in our programme, CRG project therefore organize capacity building workshop on Child Rights Programming.

3. Objectives

To facilitate SC staff and Local NGO workers to understand CRP concept and how to apply principles into practice throughout programme cycle.

4. Key focuses

l  Rights-based Approaches and Child Rights Programming

l  Turning principles into practice (using case study or real case from SC projects)

l  Child rights programming and the programme cycle (Child rights situation analysis ,Child rights based monitoring and evaluation)

4. Output

Project staff will be able to make action plan to improve their working approach in project design, activity implementation monitoring and evaluation.

5. Requirements

At least 10 years of solid experience on children/youth development and project management-advising including Rights-based Approach to Programming, facilitation of Children-Youth Participation, organizational Strategy &Development and training trainers.
