TITLE: Donor Relations and Award Management Senior Officer

We are seeking a dynamic team player to join Save the Children China Country Office as our Donor Relations and Awards Senior Officer. The purpose of this post is to support the Donor Relations and Award Management team in the planning, securing and managing of both development and humanitarian awards. The position involves supporting donor relations, award information management and compliance with systems and processes for our corporate donor-funded programs.
In this role you will support the country office to deliver quality of donor relations and award management business processes, from beginning to end of the award cycle. You will work with the Awards Manager, as well as SC Member Offices around the world to identify and build relationships with external donors and within the global organisation. You will support teams with cross cutting activities such as prospect research, knowledge management and donor, employee engagement and visit organisation/ hosting. You will work with our Program Development and Quality team, as well as with our Program Implementation and Finance teams to support high quality proposals to donors. You will bring amazing attention to detail to make sure that all our narrative and financial reporting to donors is of the highest quality. The Senior Officer will be responsible for supporting the team to adhere to all award management obligations internally within Save the Children and externally with donors.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

Role Dimensions: Strong communication and working relationships within and across departments of the China Country Office and with other Save the Children offices across the world. Strong communication and donor-facing skills for corporate partnerships coordination.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
Identification of corporate opportunities
Develop a thorough understanding of SCI China, and be able to communicate with and engage the business community
Support, through research, the identification of opportunities aligned with SCI China priorities
Work with the Donor Relations and Awards Manager to maintain effective relations with Save the Children Members and key stakeholders in SC China on all matters relating to partnerships in China and be able to update them on a regular basis on the status of current and prospect conversations.
Network, in conjunction with the Donor Relations and Awards Manager and appropriate SC Members, to raise the profile and reputation of SCI China with multi-national companies and multilateral institutions, this may involve attending and/or supporting the organisation of conferences and other networking events and representing SCI China to the foreign business community in China;
Provide support to identify funding opportunities during emergencies, working closely with SC China Provincial Offices and SC International Asia Regional Office.
Pursuit of funding opportunities
Ensure that the allocation of opportunities is made according to a clear and transparent go/no-go process.
Coordinate proposal development, ensuring relevant and timely input from different stakeholders from in and outside China, including liaising with program teams and finance to ensure the proposal has been fully costed
Assist in the coordination of proposal writing for donors including providing and ‘translating’ donor templates and formats, explaining donor priorities, confirming donor budget regulations and providing quality assurance for the tone and content required by the donor and SC Member
Ensure donor budget lines in AMS are as needed for donor reporting requirements
Ensuring compliance and maintaining excellent donor relations throughout the corporate grant cycle
Understand and communicate SCI awards management rules; ensure compliance across the board.
Assist the SCI China team to understand donor compliance requirements relating to award management including budgeting and reporting, and ensure deadlines are met. Basic understanding of donor compliance and development of compliance checklists if needed.
Ensure high data quality in AMS for corporate grants, and maintain accurate records (e.g. account briefs, donor intelligence/ prospect research, employee engagement activity plans) to be able to respond accurately and quickly to requests for information.
Use AMS reporting to monitor awards and plan for key processes i.e. donor reporting; run reports from AMS to support the monitoring of the Award Portfolio.
Perform monitoring and analysis activities when required, including by using financial analysis, and work to resolve any issues identified, with the support of the Awards Manager whenever needed.
Provide input to high quality ‘donor ready’ reports, ensuring coherence across all report documents (including financial and narrative reports).
Lead the development, and support the implementation, of high added-value corporate engagement schemes (including employee engagement, member visits, donor visits, and donor events).
Provide support on vetting processes, drafting and administering partnership agreements with local partners.
Professional qualification in Business, International Development, Finance/Accounting or similar
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· University degree in International development, business administration, finance and/or experience working in a related role
· Experience managing grants, contracts & sub agreements with knowledge of major institutional, corporate and MNCs CSR practices.
· Outstanding attention to details in all tasks.
· Relevant experience planning, securing and managing donor funded projects with International NGO’s.
· Strong analytical skills, computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
· Ability to work well with a team and establish relationships with other teams/offices
· Cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
·Highly developed interpersonal and English communication skills including proposal writing, influencing and negotiation.
·Experience working with implementing partners and managing sub awards/grants
·Excellent time management and planning capacity
·Commitment to the aims of Save the Children, an organisation working for social change and active in the promotion of the rights of the child.
·Previous fundraising support experience for a non-profit organisation, or experience in a corporate social responsibility (CSR) role in the private sector.
