TITLE: Resource Development Director/Manager

TEAM/PROGRAMME: Resource Development

LOCATION: Save the Children China office

GRADE: 1 or 2 (depends on the title and qualification)

CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed term

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 2 – the post holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work.


ROLE PURPOSE:

The Resource Development Director is responsible for providing leadership on resource development, in both emergency and development contexts and in maximising the generation of funds for Save the Children’s programmes in China. 


SCOPE OF ROLE:

Number of direct reports: 1-2 team members

Budget Responsibilities: TBD


KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Act as a central      coordination point for all resource development opportunities from within      China

  • Design the resource      development strategy to sustain China Country strategy

  • Explore various      opportunities to establish kinds of resource development channels

  • Be pro-active in      establishing and maintaining relationships with potential funders to      achieve resource development targets       

  • Leading and      managing high-performing resource development team and ensuring effective      collaboration across team members and other departments.

  • Oversee key      resource development event, e.g. gala dinner

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

·         Post Graduate Qualification in business/marketing, social sciences or a related discipline

·         Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience on areas of partnership, fundraising, strategic planning and marketing

·         Proven track record of success in delivering strong growth in resource development acquisition across multiple channels.

·         Excellent people management skills demonstrating an ability to motivate and retain a talented team

·         Excellent marketing, communications and presentation skills.

·         Passionate and Result orientated

·         Chinese native speaker is preferable

·         Experience at a leadership level of creating emergency appeals to deliver income at humanitarian crisis would be an advantage.

·         Willing to travel as required.
